Yesteryear

I don't ever remember a longing to go to camp when I was young, both my parents were teacher and one was always available from what I remember. Now in my parenting years I have been getting mail since Christmas about summer camp. CHRISTMAS!!! In December these camps want me to shell out $5,000 dollars for something that I will not start thinking about until June. Well not June anymore for fear of being closed out, these mega camps scare you into thinking they are filling up now. How in the heck can folks afford 5 grand for a ten week session of camp. I have talked to other parents who really have no choice and must have some sort of child care for their kid because they work full time. They are upset as well by these moneysucking camps. I am lucky camp can be an option for our family on the account that I stay home. But my son does not want to be left out of the fun. Oh the pressure a 5 year old can apply with out even trying. GUILT!!! a little goes a long way. I was told the other morning to get a uniform like Daddy and go to work by my son so he could stay an extended time at school and play with the other children. There are other camps out there that are not soooo expensive, but they don't get to you at Christmas time and make you feel like it's now or never. They get to you at a reasonable time ...spring, and cost half as much. What's up with the cruelly expensive camps?

Time Flies

{These clocks can be found here.}
This morning in our daylight savings time grogginess I was gifted a moment to soak in what is speeding by. I woke up to a little nugget snuggled under my arm, actually I wish, she was more like sprawled out on her back with both arms stretched wide, forcing me to shrink into a four inch gap between her and Thomas. But it was bliss the sun was coming through the window and I could not stop thinking that these moments are going to end soon as I heard my son grumbling trying to untangle himself from his sheets in the next room. We were soooo late and I did not care instead I chose to take a moment and spend time in the tiny silence that seemed like another world. I shrunk out of the bed not to disturb sleeping beauty and her prince, got dressed and went into my son's room who had given up escaping from his bed and drifted back to sleep. The sun was begging to be let in so I opened the shades and woke up Tyler who bound out of bed like sleep was not his last state. Peace was over and the wind storm of getting out the door began, but I was happy for the quiet moment I was given this morning.
Today another piece of art found a home, hopefully, it is going up for auction here. A visit to the grocery store is needed and I am hoping it does not rain on me.

Wow

The response to this piece has being amazing. Some people want it for their child as well as for their own personal enjoyment. If you also enjoy this piece and want to purchase it as a gift for a friend, child, niece, nephew, or personal entertainment, I would be more than happy to create and personalize this piece just for you. I truly believe that it is important for us to let every child know that he or she is bright enough to make a tremendous change in the world.
"Creativity is power!"

Growing Pains.
Spring is here, spring is here, it's the best time of the year.
Well not today, it rained cats and dogs all day long today. And not yesterday either because it must have been practicing to rain all day today. But the day before that was okay and a couple of days previous to that were beautiful and I think tomorrow and the rest of the week are supposed to be beautiful. And it doesnt seem to get better than that around here. Tyler said they had a fire drill today... ahem, on the day it rained tons,... he said the alarm was broken, probably water logged and they all had to go outside, but they didn't go outside he said because they did not have their rain gear on. Instead they all piled into Ms. Patricia's car (not an minivan may I add a hatchback I think) and they sang songs!!! AND, Tyler added, Max drew on the back window!!!HA That's got to be worth the tuition!!
This is Tyler garden he is so excited to see it growing. It grows slow and it is paining him, but it is helping him to understand how long it takes things to grow...like himself. We have had to cut back on saying..." You're such a great big brother" now it's "You're a great older brother".
Big and little were becoming an obsession, and I mean " Hey MA my pee pee is getting bigger too!!" Good morning Tyler that is a great observation :)
Poor Chloe is getting her first teeth. Tyler had no problems teething, but not Chloe, drool, poop, snot, everything, sleepy no nap, and cranky. Plus I think she was getting over a cold. Poor girl. But they are coming and she will be happy to have them once they come in, because she loves to eat.
Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful, hopefully we will make it to the grocery store. Tyler has one extra day at school this week for a Easter fun day with felt eggs hatching and grass gardens growing, I think there will be a hunt, he is super excited to see Jack Frost go away until next winter and has resumed his fondness for muddy puddles...the school kids swam in them, literally ! Well, pray for Mr. Sun to please shine down on us tomorrow and warm things up!
Huggs.

MLK Day
I told Tyler a five minute story about MLK.
All he could repeat back to me was that he got shot and had to go to the doctor.
He also retained the way I explained unfair treatment using ice cream, he was so upset about the fact Chloe was going to get ice cream in my example and he wasn't that he could not hear the rest of the story.
Tyler also could not understand why someone would work so hard to freeze...peeze,peace!
Tyler also asked today how the people were, who had their houses fall down...
...tear...
They are doing better.
Did they get the food we took them?...the applesauce and peanut butter?
...tear...yes.
I found out today that one of my girlfriends from college was in the earthquake, she is okay.
She says the UN in worthless, useless, clueless.
In the past two days my son has watched a whole entire Black nation crumble, followed by a celebration of a black man that was murdered after trying to help the nation. Where are the good pictures... Barack Obama maybe, hopefully but that story is not over yet!
