Growing Pains.

Spring is here, spring is here, it's the best time of the year.

Well not today, it rained cats and dogs all day long today. And not yesterday either because it must have been practicing to rain all day today. But the day before that was okay and a couple of days previous to that were beautiful and I think tomorrow and the rest of the week are supposed to be beautiful. And it doesnt seem to get better than that around here. Tyler said they had a fire drill today... ahem, on the day it rained tons,... he said the alarm was broken, probably water logged and they all had to go outside, but they didn't go outside he said because they did not have their rain gear on. Instead they all piled into Ms. Patricia's car (not an minivan may I add a hatchback I think) and they sang songs!!! AND, Tyler added, Max drew on the back window!!!HA That's got to be worth the tuition!!

This is Tyler garden he is so excited to see it growing. It grows slow and it is paining him, but it is helping him to understand how long it takes things to grow...like himself. We have had to cut back on saying..." You're such a great big brother" now it's "You're a great older brother".
Big and little were becoming an obsession, and I mean " Hey MA my pee pee is getting bigger too!!" Good morning Tyler that is a great observation :)

Poor Chloe is getting her first teeth. Tyler had no problems teething, but not Chloe, drool, poop, snot, everything, sleepy no nap, and cranky. Plus I think she was getting over a cold. Poor girl. But they are coming and she will be happy to have them once they come in, because she loves to eat.

Tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful, hopefully we will make it to the grocery store. Tyler has one extra day at school this week for a Easter fun day with felt eggs hatching and grass gardens growing, I think there will be a hunt, he is super excited to see Jack Frost go away until next winter and has resumed his fondness for muddy puddles...the school kids swam in them, literally ! Well, pray for Mr. Sun to please shine down on us tomorrow and warm things up!

Huggs.

Another Year

How much emotion is tied up into your baby turning four. He actually gets that he is a year older, he realizes that birthdays are a big deal. Or maybe he just knows toys are involved. But he is more excited to be four than anything I can imagine.
He is so proud..."I love being four Mommy!!!"

MLK Day

I told Tyler a five minute story about MLK.
All he could repeat back to me was that he got shot and had to go to the doctor.
He also retained the way I explained unfair treatment using ice cream, he was so upset about the fact Chloe was going to get ice cream in my example and he wasn't that he could not hear the rest of the story.
Tyler also could not understand why someone would work so hard to freeze...peeze,peace!

Tyler also asked today how the people were, who had their houses fall down...
...tear...
They are doing better.
Did they get the food we took them?...the applesauce and peanut butter?
...tear...yes.

I found out today that one of my girlfriends from college was in the earthquake, she is okay.
She says the UN in worthless, useless, clueless.

In the past two days my son has watched a whole entire Black nation crumble, followed by a celebration of a black man that was murdered after trying to help the nation. Where are the good pictures... Barack Obama maybe, hopefully but that story is not over yet!

PICTURES!

Well I am on Thomas' computer and it is giving me a run for my money...I don't know how to use the darn thing. So while a blog entry like this would take a little longer than usual this is taking way too long! SO.... this will get me caught up on the pictures I waned to get up, but I can't figure out how to get wording in them this time so the explanation will just be brief and come first! Oi!!!

Below are pictures from the Dino exhibit at Union Terminal, Tyler liked everything but was a little overwhelmed by the T-rex. Then there are pics of Tyler at the pool with Cousin Heather, Uncle JJ and Aunt Sarah. Below that is Great-Grandma Essie and then Thomas trying out the Moby Wrap.

Once a week?

I thought about blogging just once a week for a while until things get more settled but as I am looking through pictures to post....there are a lot and I probably should have done this a little sooner.
First I just want to say that I am mad this picture did not come out clear, because it is hilarious! The second one is funny too but the first is better!

These are just some random Chloe pictures. She is getting big she is almost two months and it is flying by. How sad:( Make note of the mobile in the back. It is one of her favorite things to do right now. The mobile and the tummy tub are the "go-tos" for freak out sessions. These are usually when she is tired and has missed her chance to fall asleep before she gets too tired. Poor girl, then she just starts to freak out that she is still awake. Then into the tummy tub we go and then sit and look at the mobile until she/we fall asleep. It's that simple!
So I think this is it for tonight. Today was a great day. Thomas has made it to the final round for a job in Philly and has been asked to go back one more time for a final interview. So hopefully this will be it! We played today, it rained on our freshly washed car, we played more, and now we are ready for bed! There are a bunch more pictures to come, so check back soon.
HUGS!

Melting...Living the Dream!

Our sweet sweet new family member, Chloe, is all you could ever ask for in a baby! In fact she is a different breed of baby than my first son, Tyler. And I didn't know they made different kinds. They are both louder than most, but Tyler was louder than every baby I have ever heard!! Chloe chooses her cries wisely and does not waste breath on needless screaming. Yes she gets her exercise but once that's over and she has had enough, she really just wants to be left alone...what?!? I know!
Go Chloe, Rock On!!! Your Mom is the same way!

Big Brother Tyler is so ready for his baby to grow up. Every morning he requests to see her so that he can calculate how much bigger she has gotten since the day before. I really think he imagines that one day he is going to wake up and she is finally going to be big already!!!

They grow before my eyes!

Normalize

Okay, SO... now that the chaos is dying down a bit, lets catch up. I'm tempted to say lets just pretend like nothing has happened but actually some major things have happened.

#1 We have welcomed Chloe Sophia into our world. She was born June 7, at whirlwind speed. Once she decided she was coming there was no stopping her and nine hours later she was here. Welcome lil' biddy!

#2 We moved. We are no longer at West Point but back in our hometown Cincinnati, Ohio. Holy crap what a long drive with a newbie baby and a three year old, but thanks to my mom I survived.

#3 We (my husband) is exiting the military and looking for a job. While we are on a mini vacation, Thomas is also looking for work. Poor guy not much of a vacation for him. Anyway this is stress at it's finest. Looking for a job is not fun. There are worse things out there but this is not fun, and I'm not even the one doing all the work.

So that is it in a nutshell. The big long break I took was to push a baby out and move. Both of which were done by someone else! So until my husband finds a job which will be soon, we will be here in Cincinnati.
And yeah she kinda looks like my mom in that picture:)

Not till 9...am.

No Tyler you have to wait till at least 9 before we can go play outside you're gonna wake up the whole neighborhood. EAT!

Been awhile. Have a few okay pics. No thanks to me, Thomas has in fact remembered to pic up the camera a few times lately.

I like this one, it sums Tyler up pretty well these days! And noooooooo those aren't all his toys!... are they? The sad fact is that is no these are not all his toys, the other half is up in his room!!!

Oh-no a ghost... aaaaaahhh!....BOO!... aaaaaahhh!...HAhahahaha! Oh-no a ghost... aaaaaahhh!....BOO!... aaaaaahhh!...HAhahahaha! Oh-no a ghost... aaaaaahhh!....BOO!... aaaaaahhh!...HAhahahaha! At the Park.

Not that big! Phish!! I only look like a marshmallow.

I'm not squeezing him as hard as it looks.

Okay that's enough for today, Tyler is going to flip if he doesn't go out to play soon! Tootles:)

Pictures?..pfur!!!

One of these days I will pick the camera back up, but right now I'm just lucky if I remember to feed myself and family. So I am attempting to sit in this chair to get some info out there. I have little time before my spine starts to yell at me. Did anyone watch Oprah today...half, really hmmmm? This is going to be our new budget so we can save for Boston, get ready Thomas!
Anyway the doctor went good, no new news! I did find a new doctor she seems fabulous so hopefully the next few appts will be more informative and helpful. Her name is Corrine Menn...google away. Okay that's all I got my back is starting!

Friday, March 27

Today is or those days that you wish you played golf, tennis, ran, had a dog to walk, something! I think I can wish all these things on this warmish day because in fact I can't do any of them right now. But it is in fact a beautiful day. A little wet but a promising play day outdoors, little people don't mind a little wet.

Yesterday was a rainy cloudy cold day. So we went to the mall and shopped with Mia and Mom. Tyler and Mia are total pals and make perfect little shoppers when together. Downside, they don't nap when entertaining each other so when separated become total wild things. Mia was a reported walking disaster last night, while Tyler survived the rest of his day today was a different story. We had to resort to a morning nap so that we could reset and start again. No problem in fact we probably should try that more often. So now that everyone has recovered from yesterday we will probably eat and venture out to play. And of course laundry must find some time in there or else Tyler might be wearing a bath towel tomorrow!

And yesterday we did shop.(Mom size 8 from the gap is too big, you keep sending size eight, size six is better unless it is a skinny something.) All the little things you can find for a girl is much greater than anything you can find on sale for a boy, it's kinda crazy. So I bought stuff for Tyler, I exchanged some things for me, and I made googly eyes at all the cute girl stuff walking out with a few cute things for our baby yet to come.

And now it is lunch time. Bye!

Wednesday, March 25

Look what the wind blew in.

Calmer Tuesdays...uh yeah right!

Yesterday I really deserved a break. But instead was greeted by a fresh poopy butt off the toilet running from something in the bathroom halfway through the day. Why me? "Tyler do not get off the pot until Mom wipes your bottom," means nothing around here!

And basically gym class happened to us, Dad has started to come, which is great for Mom. He kinda hangs around the edges and makes sure I survive. THANKS Dad, you're great! Then we were off to get lunch and then went home to nap. I didn't get to nap, I got to phone the cable guy, who is more of a dunce than I am when it comes to cable. Thomas also called and had way more luck than I did. So honey you can add them to the list of people you call, right underneath army doctor's offices. Thomas got free movie channels for a month, I got a service man with a plumbers crack!

New invention: they need to add baby monitor capabilities to i-pods. I am convinced that if I could wear headphones during Tyler's naps I could get a lot more accomplished. I need head phones to paint and exercise, when he's napping I get all distracted and can't get anything done because I need to be able to hear if my son hits the ceiling while he is napping. All I need is a buzz or something so I know when to go rescue him. Apple you need to look into this. Along with Alka-seltzer who I am convinced needs to make a version pregnant women can take!

Well today is half gone. We road bikes, we slid on slides, we had the vacuum going, and some laundry too. The dishes have reinvented themselves and I have not laid down yet so I'm off to dreamland, or at least to close my eyes for maybe a minute or two.

Bubbles...really!?!

Thank goodness days end! Yesterday was more than anything I was ready for. The doctors was an exhausting unexpected scream fest. I had no clue what to do with this child that appeared not to be my own!!! He refused to be measured, refused to get his temperature taken, kicked and screamed the whole time. The staffs idea of helping was to blow bubbles at us. Thanks... really bubbles, you see a bulging pregnant woman trying to wrangle a terrified kid, dragging two coats, a clip board, a purse, toys, and a shoes, which they did not offer any help in the removal of, and the only thing this fully staffed office can do is blow bubbles at us...really!!! The whole exam was a flash of bolting my kid to the table, so the doc could maybe see something. And after two peeks, a poke, and a glance I get, brush his teeth everyday, make sure he wears a helmet, and good luck with your kid. Seriously... I could have stayed home. No thanks to any of the staff at Keller Army Hospital my kid really is well behaved, and listens quite well when not influenced by other kids. If they had offered help and perhaps slowed down to kid friendly and pregnant mama pace, they would have gotten better results. So much for bedside manners these days. No child is going to let a stranger swoop down and poke them with unidentifiable objects..none. But thank god that's over!

After that we came home played and recuperated on the couch, watching Oprah and Steve Harvey tell women how delusional they are. And there we stayed until dinner became an issue. I got no laundry done yesterday which only makes today's pile looks like the Rockies with foothills of dirty dishes standing by. But we have gym class today so everything will have to wait one more day! Gym class as fun as it is, is exhausting as well.

So today we will be off to gym class shortly. We will watch our woodpecker eat and peck holes into peoples homes, they are tearing them down anyway. We will eat lunch, nap, and play some more...maybe outside, 44 today, maybe! And we will stare at laundry and dishes (clean, in the dishwasher kind that need to be put up.) I have a million things racing around in my mind and I really need to find some time in there to paint. La-dee- da. Lets go!
