New Hat

The little bugger wouldn't stay still for his life. Not that he usually does.

Well it's Wednesday already gosh. I have not missed any days like I usually do, I have just been trying to make Monday and Tuesdays solid Tyler days. I try to stay home and do him and only him. Yesterday got a little interrupted by a total major bathroom cleaning on the account that mom has a case of itchy feet, and I don't want it to spread anywhere!

I am also reading a new book which is hideously long ...but good, but I am trying to zoom through it before I get tired of it and never finish it...ya know how I am, my attention changes with the wind and weather. Its like 800 and some pages I'm on 200 and some so I gotta ways to go.

Tomorrow I will try to get pictures of Tyler's new shark tent up. Shark tent woo ha ha! SMiLE!
Crap I spilled my coffee, oh well on with the day!

Bouncy Bouncy

So blogger has a new interface, how annoying now I have to find everything all over again.

This week has been pretty sweet, not too much rain, not too hot, and not too long. Since we are finally getting back into the swing of things , life is more simple. Phew!

Tyler got a couple of new toys on a whim I had to get some more stuff in the house for him to jump on, before it gets too cold and wet and I have to drag it and a toddler through cold rain. So he now has a boppy bag which is the perfect thing for him to jump and wail on. He got a small, very small, ball pit. I need to get more balls for it though, what they give you is kinda measly. He also got a new potty, which he is less thrilled by, but he actually sits on it so I'm happy.

Today. We are waiting for 9:30 to roll around so we can go eat breakfast with Daddy and now that I see the time I better get movin. Tootles!

Nutrition Revolution

Where to Start....

I have new pics but before we get into that the blog is about to pick up some new contents. First Thomas and I have been on a serious quest for new information on just about everything. His started with religion or not religion, and I sort of picked my interest of diet and health back up with his intertwining nutrition/religion findings. So as my husband is discussing his ideas he is urging people to eat healthier. Good job!!!! And I'm all for that because living in military setting people eat like crap, mainly out of convenience and lack of interesting food. So he seems to be telling all these people that I know more about the food aspect of all this madness, and they should be talking to me. They want menus and recipes...how- tos. They are amazed that someone is actually doing all the stuff there reading about. Thomas tells me they think it sounds good but they can't actually seem to pull it together.

I totally understand the frustration of needing a quick healthy meal that you can make with the stuff that is already in your fridge. I myself don't have the time or patience to make things I can't spell or say. Everyone wants to eat healthy but they don't want to eat weird food, they want to eat the same stuff as always. Well it can be done. I'm doing it, if I weren't my husband would be starving because him and my son don't like weird food. They want there chicken and french fries like most.

So starting today eat chicken fried rice! Is it completely vegan nope, but it's a start. We had it last night for dinner and it was fab...even Tyler wanted more!

So you need a bag of frozen veggies, I get the kind you can steam right in the bag, a mix of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots is what I used. Get instant brown rice. Some olive oil or butter substitute. And a bag and a half of fake chicken. By the time you get into the health swing yes you will already have this stuff in the fridge. I also used 2 eggs, sesame seeds and of course soy sauce. First I started the rice. Then I cooked the chicken in the skillet according to package, then moved it to a plate to chop after it cooled a bit. Next stick the veggies in microwave according to package, set aside to cool. I scrambled the eggs scooted them to the side of the pan, chopped the veggies into tiny pieces and added then to skillet to grill with olive oil...mix together and scoot to edges of pan. After that I added my cooked rice to the middle with butter sub., sesame seeds, and soy sauce (count to 10 that should be enough). After a few minutes to cook up sauces, dump in chopped chicken, mix everything together and make it hot. Your family will be happy. This fed two adults and one toddler. For the tot I keep everything separate, ya know!

So that was Tuesday dinner its a start, and a staple! More later.

Monday. Tyler got his hair cut by me. Movie, cookies, promise of toys, and a straight jacket was all it took.

Does he look a little traumatized to you?

Oh well what can you do, I was totally avoiding it until Thomas convinced me that even if I waited until he was fifteen to cut his hair he was still going to scream about it. The poor thing.

Notice in the picture above this one, he is sitting on the coffee table. Here he is standing on his play table. On top of things phase is not thrilling me....it could be worse! But what is even more new is Tyler's new found love for markers. I know your thinking OH! what a mess. But to tell you the truth I am so excited to color with him I don't care. We have a wonderful couch that almost anything wipes off of. The makers have already been tested....oops! and they are safe (they come off.) Here are some of his masterpieces, the first one we did together and the second one is all Tyler's he says it a fish...? I can see it, can you tell he loves anything that swims...or flies...or has wheels...or moves really! Except bugs, lady bugs and spider men stay clear of Tyler.

Ouch! Headache.

Well the horrible weather that everyone has been telling me we have been having, but really haven't been having...is here! Tyler had a stuffy nose all Sunday, which I now know is a pretty sucky indicator of hard rain to come. I had a bang-bang headache all morning so when the thunder announced opening skies at about eleven I was not surprised by a hardcore pounding rain. And what did we do, we got soaked because we decieded to go to lunch in the flood water. Hey can't ruin a day because of some wet feet, if that was the case we would be rained in until November and then we would be just stuck inside from the snow until April.

So this weekend proved itself with sunny days! On Saturday after napping we went to Bear Mountain Park with some friends and their kids, we adults sat and the kids ranandranandran andran!!! I got no pictures I was to busy with snacks, balls, chairs, blankets, a toddler.... so that will have to wait until next time, which we will have to squeeze in soon becuse the cool is coming!
All right I have to go nurse my head.

Aren't summer days supposed to be longer!

The bird. Tyler in this pic is playing with one of his "free" toys. These seem to be the only ones he has real long term interest in. Everything we buy as a one day to two week life span. These free toys though have managed to have his heart for months and months. The two particular toys are a purple dragon, which grandma returned to us after it decided to take and extended vacay at grandmas house, and a man bird...don't ask. These two toys found Tyler's heart though happy meals of some sort...yuck! How sad ...really.
Yesterday was a bit of a good day. Tyler had a play date in the morning, then I ate some too old noodles for lunch, must have been moldy or something, and we both spent the rest of the day on the couch watching "MOVE IT, MOVE IT" also known to most as the movie Madagascar.
Then Dad came home and we went on our normal Thursday excursion to eat out. We payed for Tyler spending the noon on the couch ...while eating he refused to stay still and EAT. This is also fueled by the fact that he does fit into a high chair anymore...unless you would like to get him out to go home.
Any who...HELLO Friday! Big day today I woke up early to get a head start on Tyler, I really am starting to have to focus on staying one step ahead of the little bear. Learning how important the use of sentence structure is for getting a two year old to do what you want should be a class held at the DMV. It's that important! Nothing gets done unless it is worded perfectly so that there are choices, but not really! I am planning on not going anywhere today and saving all energies for a great excursion to the Bear Mountain Park tomorrow. Its like ...well I'll tell ya Monday. So today playing in the yard, laundry, maybe a trip to the PX for stuff for tomorrow, and nothing that has to do with the car, although I still might have to sit in the car for a few minutes to please little bear aka Tyler. Car rides must be essential when your 2!

Catching Up

Things are starting to look normal around here again...it only took three weeks. Now I have to get into the mind frame that we are staying here for another year. Some flowers in the front yard are my first goal, but the decision to go summer or fall is debilitating. I know the cool weather is sneaking up on us right around the corner, but summer is still here.
Today Tyler had a play date with a new little boy that just arrived here (West Point) in July. They had a ton of fun running at the park and wore themselves out. We had to drag them away kicking and screaming. Our fav. gal pal Mia is back from her vacay to her grandmother house, and all is falling back into place. Thank goodness I don't think I could wander around aimlessly for another week. I need to make plans for some serious artwork, because I refuse to let another year of opportunity pass me by.
I'm off. See ya.

Tuesday, August 5

I havent forgotten you.

How do you work this thing again. It has been so long. Yeah so I decided to take a break, or the break took itself. The trip home was exhausting to say the least, looking for a house as fun as it is is not really that much fun on day 3,4,5,6 and so on. But it is a good thing we did not buy a home because it looks like we are staying here! Holy moly what happened? EEREEREer! Not sure really it is all a little complicated to blog, let just say that people in charge who say they know what to do don't really know what to do. So we are here for another year it could be worse. So her are some pics I have been withholding from the trip home. I will leak them slowly or you can go to the gallery and see them all at once.

Homeward Bound

Remember this movie, very cute very sad. I don't remember anything that happens in it, I just remember that I saw it.

Anyway we are off tomorrow to fly home to find a home for our family to move into back in Cincinnati. I have to get everything ready for the trip today because everything I did yesterday had nothing to do with the travels of next week. So today I will be slaving over packing and fighting with memory until we take off the ground. Tyler has been asking to pick Granny up at the airport "in da caaaarrrr" he doesn't get that we are going this time... to home. It is all very exciting and I will be happy when all the plane stuff in over.

So Ta Ta for now. I have to pack!

4th of July Is Full Of Loud Bangs

Our weekend seemed slow as it was passing but looking back it was a big blur. On Friday we hung around the house, I made Tyler a family album photo book so that he would recognize some of his family when we move back. He is very interested in naming the folks he already knows but getting him to pay attention past: Grandma, Grandpa, Grandma, Grandpa, Mew- maw, Mew-maw, Pa-pa, Susu, Connie, Uncle Tim...and he sort of falls off. We have plenty of time to practice, and he is a fast learner so we should be good all the way to Aunt Angie by August.
Anyway later in the day we had a BBQ to go to. It was nice because we had a balcony view of the fireworks#1 that you couldn't wish for. That was a late night like 11pm. Phew and ya know what Tyler doesn't really like fireworks.

On Saturday we recovered from Friday and chilled out most the day. Thomas rested in the morning and then we switched and I napped in the afternoon. After a little rest we went to the fireworks on base. Thank goodness we found some friends for Tyler or he would not have survived the wait 'til the booms came. Now he really does not like fireworks. That was another 11pm night.

So Sunday I could not just stay home..nope not me! So we went out for doughnuts and to the farmers market. The market is close to one of Tyler's playgrounds, and being the dictator that he is he refused to calm down until the park was in the plans. So to the park we went and played for awhile until it was time to change diapers. Home we went but did we stay...no! Off to the mall we went to check out the great sales! Thomas got a couple of shirt and Tyler measured a size up on his shoes so he got a new pair of kicks. They have monster trucks and flashing lights, who knew Stride Rite was so cool and hip... not really but Tyler thinks they are cool and that is all that matters.

Today we will spend the rest of the day getting ready for our trip home. Get ready, get ready , get ready!

None of Chinda.

We went to a party over the weekend and got good pics but none of Chinda and Chris. I didn't really want pics of them, but it would have been nice to get one with me and Chinda at least.

This photo would have been horrible if he hadn't of gotten his little head in there!

Thursday, June 26

Outside.

Whew! Thursday. This week is slowly going by mainly I think because of the weather. Just when you think that it is safe to go play...clap...clap...boom! Rain. Yesterday was a little less than I had hoped for but ...I FINALLY got sand. Mainly because they got it at the PX now and I didn't have to make a special trip to Home Depot to get just sand. Now it will probably be another month before the sand makes it to the box... Oh well.

Today we went to the book store where Tyler spent all morning playing on the train table. My camera was of course here at home, so no pics :( He was really funny with all the other kids zooming around and around and around and around and around and around .... the table. This weekend Chinda has her engagement party so that will be fun..I hope.
Off to nap I'm pooped and Thomas has softball tonight. Bye!

Spell Bananas N-A-N-A-S

I only like to eat my "nanas" like Curious George!
Seriously?...Yes he is very serious. No more simple bananas, he must have the peel attached and be able to hold it. He'll eat to the peel and coming looking for someone to peel it down further. No more simple banana.

Summer is Here

Holy Moly! Where has the year gone? I looked at my calender today and realized that it has been officially summer for a couple of days now. 2008 is slipping through my fingers and I now know that I am getting older because I cannot keep up with time. When your young it is almost like you can sit and watch time go by, there is a sense of awareness that as you grow older you lose. I would like to know who took it away and how do I get it back...it was probably the TV, or Starbucks, two things I am currently trying to swear off of, they are no good.

From this summer I would really like three things. Good old fashion family time, with lemonade and grass stains involved. Some small art pieces, and maybe a couple of big ones. And lastly a pedicure every now and then. I'm not asking much from the summer, it is supposed to be relaxing. In the midst of a move coming soon, for now these things are on my mind. And I would like all those things to involve photos, not so much the pedicure really. Well maybe...I do have cute toes.

Today. It's already half way gone, but what the hoo. Thomas has a spot of poison ivy on his leg that he thinks is spreading so we will picking up treatment for that. Now that the sun is shining after an undecidedly dreary/sunny morning when Tyler wakes up we will attempt a walk. I really need a pair of shorts...that fit. And I am still resisting buying any flowers for the front of our home since we are moving.

I forgot to mention how great of a weekend we had. In short, Saturday we went to a farm to see animals. And then we went to the river and had lunch on the boardwalk, came home napped picked up a quick dinner and headed to the slides and swings at a nearby park. Sunday, Thomas preached, Tyler napped the rest of the day, big deal...long late nap. And then he woke up ate and went back to bed. He was pooped! Yeah weekend!
