Back In Action... Fresh Start

To type or to tape that is the question. I don't know which is less annoying when you just want to throw something up there. Blogging typing takes a chunk of time unfortunately...not the actual blogging all the stuff that you get caught up doing while your blogging is more of the headache part. I'm sure if I really tried I could just blog and email, but I am always looking up something or doing something non-blog simultaneously, and then we end up with headache. I suppose it's a step away from the TV, and that has to be good?!? And the tape part is a lot of w...a...i...t...i...n...g!!! Holy wait time. But I am sticking to my blog not giving up!

This blog was supposed to be about art mostly with some family thrown in there, but it seems to be more like Tyler Blog with a little of art and family thrown in there. This is totally understandable because he is with me all day. So I am thinking of expanding. I have the mac gallery and I now own it so it will be ever growing. This feature also came with a lot of perks which I think I will be putting to good use as soon as I figure out how to put them to good use. You'll get to see what they are when I figure them out. Until then I'll just keep blogging.

Yesterday I got to go to one of my favorite breakfast places, and it is close so that is nice. I have a Greek omelet with one chocolate chip pancake... don't say that's all because that is alotta food. Tyler gets a waffle with bananas on the top and never eats it, next time I'm just getting him a plate of bacon! And Thomas just ate alot! Totally cool until we ran into graduation week traffic. Oh my, is it possible for cars to be backed up for more that 3 miles to see a parade, not the graduation.. that's today, but a parade. I remember Thomas' parade, and these folks are crazy, poor souls they don't know any better. But once we got home Tyler got to play outside and he was happy. I'm thankful for the nice weather, it give us a requested break from the TV. Outside is referred to as "SLIDE", and he wants it all the time. I have purchased natural sunblock SPF 30, for the fam. so now we won't be getting cancer from the sun or the block. GO GREEN!

Thomas and I are brainstorming jobs for myself when we move. So far the closest thing I would want to do is work with the over the rhine kids in art programs which there are several of. I got in touch with the museum school and they kinda put me on that track except all there listing were for Boston. So I have to find a source in Cincy to list me these programs. The only one I know off the top of my head is artworks so I'm going from there. As far as art goes I'm trying. And now what you all have been waiting for "Ganma" pics. I am still working on uploading them so I can group them. Today bedtime, tomorrow dinner.

So here is some advice from my young brain, it's free, don't go off the laundry schedule...if you have one. I do I try to do 2 loads a day, 3 if it's a good day. Ouch! I haven't done laundry since Tuesday...Oy! It is almost as bad as trying to cram for a test, I believe that's the feeling. So do not go off the laundry schedule...it is bad news!

And for today, ummmm Saturday, lets stay at home and play some more in the yard. We can test our natural sunblock and bug spray, then we can grill burgers.

Ahhh! Warm sun! BYE.

Birthday Dad.

Yesterday Dad was the birthday boy. We had a fun time, I brought home Cheesecake and wings for dinner, some of his favs. I got some good pics of him and Tyler and he got some golf tee's and a new alarm clock for his birthday. Alarm clocks are tricky business. They make them with tricky bells and whistles now. I didn't even know how to use the one he had and it was puttering out. The CD player would play past song number 3 or some business, it really was starting to get annoying. So Dad I hope you enjoyed your birthday, Tyler and I did. The cake was good, I'm pretty sure Tyler would have eaten it all had we not stopped him. He has a serious sweet tooth.....hmmm ? And I think he might have radar too, he ate amazingly little of his chicken, which he usually gobbles and instead gobbled the cake.

Green and Clean.

I wish I could say that I accomplished something this weekend but I can't. On Friday Thomas decided that he wanted to go to The Cheesecake Factory for his birthday dinner. I was not planning on doing his dinner on Friday but he was. I was going to do the dinner tonight but I guess he will just have two dinners. The only difference will be that this dinner will have a cake and candles, and hopefully we will remember to take some pictures.

What we did accomplish this week was the outgo of money. We are trying to make a our house and our bodies a bit greener. Who knew this could be so expensive. We bought a bunch of replacement products for the kitchen and bathroom as well as personal care items. Phew, healthy is expensive it's a conspiracy. We also bought a juicer (a rehab, not holy expensive but still really good) and enjoyed fresh juice all weekend. This Monday morning my family is detoxed and clean...almost!

I think I have found the problem to my camera and should be getting back on track with pictures soon. If you didn't notice I did figure out how to mobile blog on Sunday. That's a check in the box...not easy. Should be able to do some cool stuff with that as soon as I figure out if it going to cost me an arm and a leg. Which reminds me I need to call the phone people anyway to see about insurance on my new phone.

Next...make a weekly to-do list. And I'm out. HUGS!

Flying Days.

Days do fly...I missed another one. Yesterday was television free, and therefore no tv, no time to blog really. I don't really know what we have been doing. Yesterday was dreary yet we managed a play date at the park. Good thing we did it early, it poured for the rest of the day. We mostly have been staying in and playing, it is so wet outside it seems like it is wet indoors too. My camera has been acting funny, I'm sure Tyler has pushed a button and changed something, I just need to figure out what it is. He did the same thing to our tv, and we had to watch most of the channels in spanish for about a week until Thomas figured out it was the tv and not the cable. Tyler had switched the audio to secondary, which is for vision impaired and spanish speaking. Can you imagine what we watched for a week? Well, it's fixed now and I think that the same thing has happened to our camera. He has switched the format...somehow? Anyway more laundry to do and I can't spend all my time on the computer today. Thomas' birthday is coming on Monday and I need to get ready.
Hugs.

Erykah Badu concert 2008 nyc

this is an excerpt someone took at the concert we saw

On and On and On.

A case of the Mondays...no not really, just readjusting to normal time after a fun weekend.
Friday was the Badu concert and she is totally beyond hip. I was at one of her shows from her first concert tour shows, and ten years later it is amazing to see how an artist grows, or how life grows around them and really we/they have no choice but to keep up. But she doesn't complain and makes the best of it. That a girl.. that's why people love her. The next day we spent at home trying to get back on track. Tyler spent the concert evening with his sitter and refused to sleep. He still is not back to his normal self yet... very cranky.

Mother's day I got to sleep in until ten o'clock.. that might be the best gift ever. Then I got breakfast in bed and Thomas got all my favorite foods and grilled out later. It was a yummy and relaxed day. So today trying to get energy back on track. The news is telling us to stay inside today because of wind, so will be doing laundry and cleaning today. Still have not got our closets adjusted for spring yet... started it weeks ago, not finished yet.
So hi- ho off I go!

Friday, May 9

Plip..plip..plop...poop, plip, plip.

Rain goes poop, plip, plop on the roof and as the day goes by it is coming harder and harder. I am on my way to dream land, well rest land, naps make me sleepier these days. So I will lay and watch a movie and rest in preparation for the Badu concert tonight in the city.

So far after morning routine we dropped off Dad at work, went to the grocery, had lunch, and watched Lilo & Stich, now it is nap time and I am gung ho! Have a good Nappy.
Snore, snore, snore!

Mt. Laundry

Well I had this post already to go for this morning but then the day started and threatened to leave me behind if I even thought of slowing down. So I never got to post this morning as planned. Instead I was off to the mall on this dreary day to buy a new iron, vacuum cleaner, more flooding pee solutions, and some lipstick. I will post the entry as is now that you know the whole story...

Hum drum my eyes are sleepy. 5 am wake up call to get Thomas off to Brooklyn for a meeting/presentation. I am only pacified by the fact that he is not driving alone, one of his buddies is going too so they can keep each other awake. Gulp, gulp coffee is what is going on right now and I am not stopping anytime soon! Thank you Starbucks...yes we brew it at home too!

Yesterday was a big laundry fest. I thought you did laundry the day before you say? Well I did!!! And I continued the trek to the bottom of the pile only to find out that it will take me twenty plus years to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and then only then I might find out that there is also laundry in heaven! You know they say God has a sense of humor they say.

Speaking of humor... I guess my son thought it would be funny to hit his sleeping mom over the head with a wiffle ball bat. Thank goodness it was plastic or my eye would probably be busted open. The plastic bat let me get away with a small poofy bruise. Don't feel bad for my eye though, my feelings were hurt even more that I had to punish him. He spent the rest of the evening with no toys, took a bath with no toys, and went to bed without his stash of cars and animals under his pillow :( It only lasted until morning, right after his bath he apologized and gave me a kiss and a "sorry" to make up for it, poor thing he had to learn his lesson though. He just laid down and went to sleep. But kids forget quick and its a new day and he is okay and so am I!!!

Off we go!

Put On Your Ninja Senses

Hello Sunshine. That's exactly what I like to see when I wake up. Prettiness outside because inside is sort of something else. Not prettiness more like messiness. I give up Tyler wins, muddy shoes and all. You can only get so far with prevention the rest must be done with a dust buster. Walking through our house you must call on your ninja senses to tip-toe yourself around small cars and animals with out breaking an ankle. There is nothing like seeing him play and smile all day, so its worth it.

The G diapers have been put to the test, B+ that's all I can do. This is better than regular diapers which I would rate at a C-. More time must be given though, so far they have seen regular usage plus two poops and an overnight. Did they survive the night, not quite. I can't really say 100% yet because they encountered a good morning poo, so hard to say for sure yet. But the bed was less wet this morning even with the poop, so there might be hope. The awesome part is the flush. And yes they do flush, right down the toilet. No stinky poo lingering scent, it goes down the pot with the diaper. They are a little involved but it might be worth it. Again they need more time to prove themselves. The outside is the cutest part, the soft cover is adorable will try to get some pics later.

Tyler seems to have lightened up on his eating spree, I think it is due to allergies or another cold, geez! So just normal eating for now.. not a bad thing , he was getting kinda chunky. Well as chunky as a skinny kid can get.

So the word on the block is the Backyardigans are coming to West Point. Watch out all, Mom will be in line trying to get her tyke tickets, it's a mad dash to the finish line. I'll let you know what the outcome is.

So now that the weather is warm I need to figure out how to get some grass in our shady back yard. The ground is pretty bare except for a few patches here and there, but those might be moss.

Painting is slow like I said. I put everything else first and then I get nothing done. Yesterday I think I decided laundry was more important, and then I moved some furniture. Oy! I got nothing done. I am working on a tree painting now but it is not mine it is a copy of a print on a curtain I found in a magazine. I thought it looked cool.

Okay Gotta Go. Hugs.

G Diaper Day

So today lets get going. We got the G diapers in the mail, wow, will be testing those out soon. I got a lot of stuff to do today. Did ya know Mother's day is Sunday, got mail to get out and a B-Day gift to Baby Hallback. Also spring is here and our closet does not have one warm weather thing in it. So must make moves to get some summer stuff out. That is a pain I have been putting it off for weeks and don't think I can hold out any longer.

I want to move the upstairs around a bit, am trying to resist but don't think I can.

Went to Baby gym class this morning. All Tyler wanted to do was to go see Mia. They are like soul mates I think they knew each other in a previous life.

Some art work and sewing projects are on the ball. A slow rolling heavy ball that is hard to push but no less a ball.

Thomas got Eryka Badu tickets for this Friday at Radio City and I am sooooooo excited. Haven't done anything like that since college. So Yay!

Tyler is napping so time is golden. Pray for the G diaper.

Hugs!!!

Ready. Set. Grow.

Oh my goodness. How does one small child eat so much food. Thomas and I have begun to notice that our son has been eating more and more. Over the weekend it was confirmed that we have a tiny eating machine. It started when he went on a play date and ate all of the mac and cheese the mom had made, not made him, but made. Then he ate a whole pizza the next day, one that is supposed to feed 3 people, crust and all. He wakes up demanding food and eats from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to bed, laying on his pillow asking for pizza. Today for breakfast he had a waffle with peanut butter and jelly a whole banana, an orange, a slice of cheese and a cup of milk ... and a cup of juice. For a snack shortly after he had a glass of water, another orange and a 2 in 1 cereal bar. For lunch he had ravioli another, slice of cheese, a glass of juice, a glass of milk and a small bowl of grapes. Holy moly, we have a boy. It amazes me at every meal, and he always asks for more.

next. More importantly over the weekend I got a new phone, I went back to my beautiful samsung that I had before we moved here and switched to verizon and I picked a crappy LG Chocolate. Never, never, buy a chocolate they are nothing but trouble and impossible to use.
So happy Mothers Day to me I got a new phone. I had been trying to get away from that chocolate thing since I got it. I should have just sent it back from the beginning, but I thought how bad could it be? Pretty darn bad. So here it is...what a beauty. Admire it and catch me tomorrow!

rain rain Go AWAY

So again I am having video problems I thought I would do a video blog today, and it is not working. It basically said that I was not doing much today. Going to the doctor and then out to eat. Well I can say that now because that is what we did. The sitter got Tyler to eat Mac and Cheese, how does she do that? Well it is late I was really hoping the I could work out the video, but I actually did a little work in my studio today, and did not waste all my time in WWW land. So night night all.
Hopefully next week will be a better blogging week. I think I have a formula worked out I just have to use it.
Hugs!

Not Much

I have nothing to post. That is so not exciting, as I am so not excited. Thomas came home from his busy-ness trip to Philly a little more than exhausted. So yesterday afternoon the house was exhausted. Me from Tyler, Tyler from me and Thomas all by himself. Tyler was protesting Thomas' departure yesterday and decided not to take a nap, that equals exhaustion. So for today poor Thomas will be in the big city again and not home until late, but maybe Tyler and Mom can do a little laid back recuperation, hopefully in nap form.

No progress on turning off "The T" as Tyler calls it. Well maybe a little, yesterday after Curious George I kept us away from it, until Thomas came home, then there is nothing I can do ESPN reigns all. Unfortunately, Tyler knows how to work the TV, DVD, VCR, situation better than most adults, figures. So unless the whole thing is unplugged, the TV is on. All for now, will try to get some pics or video up later.
Hugs.
