Pain in the back!
That's it we are officially old, when you spend 2 hours of your night trying to get your other half from a crawling position on the floor to a sitting position on the couch you are officially getting old...er! 26 and 27 that is definitely not old, but it is not 17 anymore. How sad...no more whole bags of potato chips and no more salami cream cheese rolls without adding a roll or two. Poop!
So, do I have to say that Thomas has thrown his back out in a major way and is immobile for now. We have to do a major patch job on him because he has to travel very soon... like tomorrow. That means pain killers, muscle relaxers, warm showers, heating pads, and some not too strenuous walking to loosen things up a bit. Dr. Cara to the rescue with some not too expired meds. You'll be up and running in no time babe, I hope.
Also today, Tyler is in daycare. When I dropped him off I saw a friend of his that he gets pretty naughty with, so they should be having a interesting day. I hung up some curtain already this morning and now our bedroom in glowing a beautiful blue-ish green. I will be in my studio for the better part of the rest of the time Tyler is out and occasionally swapping out to be doctor too! Feel better Thomas!
Bye.

Today: Tyler spent the day at the daycare, all went well except he did not nap...ho hum, so he is down right now. I didn't do much but run errands maybe I 'll get more done tomorrow.
You can download the pics at the end of every month, when I upload them to the family gallery at the end of every month. Its easier to do it all at once. Bye. bye.

Hello Pictures?
I know blogs kinda are blah without the pics, but I haven't been doing any major outings lately on account of a few things. One being I got used to staying in because of a tot with a nose problem which turned into an eye problem over the weekend and now it back to nothing, phew. But during that time I learned I could save money by staying home...surprise. Last week I saved money on gas and mindless spending, which lent to a major shopping spree over the weekend!!! I'm not unhappy about that so I'll stay home some more this week and see what happens. No spending spree in the future though, we have to save to go to a party in DC. One of Thomas' friends is getting married and engagement partys are all the rage now. Grandma is coming to watch Tyler and we are going to zoom down and back.
Outside today is beautiful, and I am at home waiting for the door repair man to come. I can't even go for a walk in the brisk air, which is my favorite air to walk in...I don't think Tyler likes brisk too much though, he hates wind. That means that right now is not his fav. time of the year, especially with Ike sending us some major wind (another reason not to go anywhere.) SO here we are waiting until noon for a man who will probably not show up. The fix it men never show up the first time. Not until you call and say nobody came do they really send someone over. Grrrr! I would rather fix it myself but it is beyond repair they need to replace it.
So with no pics to post, I am looking through the pics that we do have and am realizing that I need to make more of an effort with this picture taking thing. I don't have any really great pics to boast of and it makes me sad that I live in this beauty of a place and I have not been doing my best to capture our time here...sappy, I know! But anyway while fall is here I am going to make an effort to take better/more pictures, which might mean I have to create some photo ops.
Today: Where is the fix it guy!?! I got my coffee in hand. Thanks Thomas!!! and were waiting. Tyler is on a poop boycott (again) and is pacing to keep it all in. The laundry monster has been staring me down all morning and I'm gonna have to give in at some point. I gotta get the guest bed ready for my mom, and in general I need to clean. But it is more likely that I will be reading for a good part of the day. Chow!

Whoosh!
Monday was okay, just to be honest. We had stayed home pretty much last week on account Tyler had a styffy nose and the weather...I think. Being in so much I think Tyler might have forgotten how to act in public. He was slightly unruly at the store yesterday all over a bathtub dino toy. So we went home and satyed home and hoped he acted better at dinner, which he did. So after we got home we just sort of tootled around...at home.
Today: Nothing much going on will have to make a real effort if this day is going to turn out to be exciting at all. The wind is blowing everyone away, and faking everyone into thinking that fall is closer than it really is. But I can't be tricked, even though our tulip tree swears it is already fall and is dropping all of its leaves as fast as possible. I want a huge cup of coffee right now but the coffee can is clinking on empty, will someone please bring me a hot cup of joe so I can get the day started!...no! okay I 'm of to get it myself.
CHOW!

Stuffies
Tyler has had the stuffies in his nose this week so, we have just been laying low. He is almost back to normal today so I'm not trying to drag him anywhere too soon. He's having fun hanging out and watching the TV, which gives me a good time to read so I'm not complaining.
Lunch Time. Bye.

One Long Weekend.
Tired is all this long weekend gave our family.
Friday. WEST POINT FOOTBALL. This was our first game of the season... and as none hoped for we lost. I was a little miffed because the game did not start until 7 pm that night. But of course there were mandatory festivities to be attended to. Not to mention we were expected to actually get to these festivities somehow with the entire base on high alert! This means it is almost impossible to get from point a to point b in a timely manner. A 2 minute drive was now 15! So Tyler got to bed at about 10:30 that night.
Saturday. Oh wouldn't it be fun to trek halfway across New Jersey after an exhausting evening to go to IKEA, thought the delusional mom! Bad idea we trekked back hungry, more tired and empty handed.
Sunday. Surly we are rested enough to go to our favorite breakfast spot and make a quick run to another furniture store! Um yeah maybe, but the revved up energy from yummy breakfast did not make it much further than that. Running on steam we made the decision to go to the biggest mall ever and thank goodness Thomas found some nice things or that would have been another useless trip. Arriving home a few hour before the BBQ was to begin we got snuck in some not long enough naps and we were up and cooking. Now all the other BBQ's were not plagued with monster mosquitoes, why this one. Well we relocated into our house with 8ish adults plus too many kids. I think the last stragglers left at what felt like 3 am.
Monday. CRASH! Thank you Thomas for letting Mom sleep later than you did on her own birthday...that meant a lot to sleep in until 11:30! We did nothing today, perhaps that was the smartest thing we did all weekend. We sat around and scratched bug bites and babied bumps and scratches... Tyler! This week we found out that he is highly allergic to the sticky stuff on band aids ... great. So not only does he have a gaping wound on his elbow, which was healing fine until I had the smart idea to put a cool Nemo band aid on it just for fun, the scab is now covered in itchy-ugly bumps, and looks way worse than it ever did, because he has now itched the scab off... i can't put a cover on it anymore to keep it from getting re-scrapped, which has now happened about 3 times just today, and the OUCHY is now officially called an ITCHY...mommy! because of stupid band aid sticky stuff. Life is not simple! SO I have a feeling tomorrow will be another lazy day and maybe Wednesday we will hit the restart button.
Tea anyone. BYE!

New Hat
The little bugger wouldn't stay still for his life. Not that he usually does.
Well it's Wednesday already gosh. I have not missed any days like I usually do, I have just been trying to make Monday and Tuesdays solid Tyler days. I try to stay home and do him and only him. Yesterday got a little interrupted by a total major bathroom cleaning on the account that mom has a case of itchy feet, and I don't want it to spread anywhere!
I am also reading a new book which is hideously long ...but good, but I am trying to zoom through it before I get tired of it and never finish it...ya know how I am, my attention changes with the wind and weather. Its like 800 and some pages I'm on 200 and some so I gotta ways to go.
Tomorrow I will try to get pictures of Tyler's new shark tent up. Shark tent woo ha ha! SMiLE!
Crap I spilled my coffee, oh well on with the day!

Bouncy Bouncy
So blogger has a new interface, how annoying now I have to find everything all over again.
This week has been pretty sweet, not too much rain, not too hot, and not too long. Since we are finally getting back into the swing of things , life is more simple. Phew!
Tyler got a couple of new toys on a whim I had to get some more stuff in the house for him to jump on, before it gets too cold and wet and I have to drag it and a toddler through cold rain. So he now has a boppy bag which is the perfect thing for him to jump and wail on. He got a small, very small, ball pit. I need to get more balls for it though, what they give you is kinda measly. He also got a new potty, which he is less thrilled by, but he actually sits on it so I'm happy.
Today. We are waiting for 9:30 to roll around so we can go eat breakfast with Daddy and now that I see the time I better get movin. Tootles!

Nutrition Revolution
Where to Start....
I have new pics but before we get into that the blog is about to pick up some new contents. First Thomas and I have been on a serious quest for new information on just about everything. His started with religion or not religion, and I sort of picked my interest of diet and health back up with his intertwining nutrition/religion findings. So as my husband is discussing his ideas he is urging people to eat healthier. Good job!!!! And I'm all for that because living in military setting people eat like crap, mainly out of convenience and lack of interesting food. So he seems to be telling all these people that I know more about the food aspect of all this madness, and they should be talking to me. They want menus and recipes...how- tos. They are amazed that someone is actually doing all the stuff there reading about. Thomas tells me they think it sounds good but they can't actually seem to pull it together.
I totally understand the frustration of needing a quick healthy meal that you can make with the stuff that is already in your fridge. I myself don't have the time or patience to make things I can't spell or say. Everyone wants to eat healthy but they don't want to eat weird food, they want to eat the same stuff as always. Well it can be done. I'm doing it, if I weren't my husband would be starving because him and my son don't like weird food. They want there chicken and french fries like most.
So starting today eat chicken fried rice! Is it completely vegan nope, but it's a start. We had it last night for dinner and it was fab...even Tyler wanted more!
So you need a bag of frozen veggies, I get the kind you can steam right in the bag, a mix of broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots is what I used. Get instant brown rice. Some olive oil or butter substitute. And a bag and a half of fake chicken. By the time you get into the health swing yes you will already have this stuff in the fridge. I also used 2 eggs, sesame seeds and of course soy sauce. First I started the rice. Then I cooked the chicken in the skillet according to package, then moved it to a plate to chop after it cooled a bit. Next stick the veggies in microwave according to package, set aside to cool. I scrambled the eggs scooted them to the side of the pan, chopped the veggies into tiny pieces and added then to skillet to grill with olive oil...mix together and scoot to edges of pan. After that I added my cooked rice to the middle with butter sub., sesame seeds, and soy sauce (count to 10 that should be enough). After a few minutes to cook up sauces, dump in chopped chicken, mix everything together and make it hot. Your family will be happy. This fed two adults and one toddler. For the tot I keep everything separate, ya know!
So that was Tuesday dinner its a start, and a staple! More later.
Monday. Tyler got his hair cut by me. Movie, cookies, promise of toys, and a straight jacket was all it took.

Does he look a little traumatized to you?

Oh well what can you do, I was totally avoiding it until Thomas convinced me that even if I waited until he was fifteen to cut his hair he was still going to scream about it. The poor thing.
Notice in the picture above this one, he is sitting on the coffee table. Here he is standing on his play table. On top of things phase is not thrilling me....it could be worse! But what is even more new is Tyler's new found love for markers. I know your thinking OH! what a mess. But to tell you the truth I am so excited to color with him I don't care. We have a wonderful couch that almost anything wipes off of. The makers have already been tested....oops! and they are safe (they come off.) Here are some of his masterpieces, the first one we did together and the second one is all Tyler's he says it a fish...? I can see it, can you tell he loves anything that swims...or flies...or has wheels...or moves really! Except bugs, lady bugs and spider men stay clear of Tyler.

Ouch! Headache.
Well the horrible weather that everyone has been telling me we have been having, but really haven't been having...is here! Tyler had a stuffy nose all Sunday, which I now know is a pretty sucky indicator of hard rain to come. I had a bang-bang headache all morning so when the thunder announced opening skies at about eleven I was not surprised by a hardcore pounding rain. And what did we do, we got soaked because we decieded to go to lunch in the flood water. Hey can't ruin a day because of some wet feet, if that was the case we would be rained in until November and then we would be just stuck inside from the snow until April.
So this weekend proved itself with sunny days! On Saturday after napping we went to Bear Mountain Park with some friends and their kids, we adults sat and the kids ranandranandran andran!!! I got no pictures I was to busy with snacks, balls, chairs, blankets, a toddler.... so that will have to wait until next time, which we will have to squeeze in soon becuse the cool is coming!
All right I have to go nurse my head.
Friday, August 8
Aren't summer days supposed to be longer!
Yesterday was a bit of a good day. Tyler had a play date in the morning, then I ate some too old noodles for lunch, must have been moldy or something, and we both spent the rest of the day on the couch watching "MOVE IT, MOVE IT" also known to most as the movie Madagascar.
Then Dad came home and we went on our normal Thursday excursion to eat out. We payed for Tyler spending the noon on the couch ...while eating he refused to stay still and EAT. This is also fueled by the fact that he does fit into a high chair anymore...unless you would like to get him out to go home.
Any who...HELLO Friday! Big day today I woke up early to get a head start on Tyler, I really am starting to have to focus on staying one step ahead of the little bear. Learning how important the use of sentence structure is for getting a two year old to do what you want should be a class held at the DMV. It's that important! Nothing gets done unless it is worded perfectly so that there are choices, but not really! I am planning on not going anywhere today and saving all energies for a great excursion to the Bear Mountain Park tomorrow. Its like ...well I'll tell ya Monday. So today playing in the yard, laundry, maybe a trip to the PX for stuff for tomorrow, and nothing that has to do with the car, although I still might have to sit in the car for a few minutes to please little bear aka Tyler. Car rides must be essential when your 2!
